I’m Shawntell. I’m a Nevada transplant, and ISSA Certified in Sports Nutrition. I love being outdoors, coffee, and of course my husband and two dogs.
Everyone who knows me knows that I’m silly, I love running Disney races, and my blood is infused with coffee molecules. What most people don’t know about me, is that I’ve struggled with depression for the majority of my adult life. I started this blog to keep me accountable while training for my 50k training, I thought by writing down my intention, I could make sure to stay on track. 
Of course, I wasn’t always runner. I never ran track in school or played team sports, however, I did compete in equestrian events for several years. I took my first riding lessons starting at age 7. 
In my 20s, I began running to improve my fitness. Back then I thought races were only for the elites. I never considered myself anything but a casual exerciser. In 2014 I ran my first 5k race and I was so glad I did. Now, I’ve completed three full marathons, coming up on 4 50k's, several half-marathons, and multiple 5k’s and 10k’s on both road and trail. 
I hope The Run Motive will help encourage others to get out and run. Do it for you! Believe me, it's worth it.
